As an undergrad, my mentor introduced me to theatrical sound design a way of satisfying my creativity when I wasn't performing in shows. Little did I know it would lead to a vocation that (so far) has spanned 10 years, 4 states, and 2 countries.
My experience in sound runs the gamut from recording audiobooks for the Library of Congress to designing cues for theatre productions, from composing soundscapes to supervising a post-production team for film. I love the process of bringing life to creative works through sound and being a supportive part of a collaborative project.
Currently, I am pursuing a Ph.D. in Communications from Simon Fraser University in Vancouver, Canada, where I specialize in Sound Studies. My current research interests are the sonic dimensions of gender-based inequity, and sound as a potential tool of social justice.
